The first Johnson & Wales athlete to have ever won four consecutive conference championships in a single sport, Shana Eigen set single-season and career set assist records from 1999 to 2002, quarterbacking the women’s volleyball Wildcats to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) title for four-straight years. A GNAC First Team selection for three years, the native of Sandy Hook, Connecticut, was a GNAC Second Team pick in her freshman year. Eigen was the conference tournament’s MVP in 1999, a member of the GNAC All-Tournament teams in 2000, 2001, and 2002, and was the second Wildcat ever selected to the New England Women’s Volleyball Association’s Senior Classic. Captain of the Wildcats in her senior year, her versatility and value are most evident in her career statistics: a record 2,590 set assists, 888 digs, 173 blocks, 202 aces, and 470 kills.
