Johnson & Wales first NCAA hockey goaltender, Scott Jacob’s four-year netminding legacy is virtually etched in stone within the team’s record book. A four-year starter with a fledgling program in a tough conference, he eventually posted a 50-37-2 record for a winning percentage of .574. His four career shutouts, 3.58 goals-against average, and .898 save percentage were among the many career marks that were set by the Milford, Connecticut native. He also set records for minutes played (5,314), games played (93), and career saves (2,808). In 2001, he was named the ECAC’s Goaltender of the Year. During that same year, he was an ECAC Northeast First Team selection and a New England Hockey Writers All-Star.
