BEVERLY, Mass. – The JWU (Providence) women's and men's ice hockey programs saw 27 student-athletes named to the Conference of New England (CNE) All-Academic Teams.
Two seniors –
Sam Band (Marketing) and
Conner Lindsoe (Exercise and Sport Science) – headlined the list of 13 men's student-athletes. They were joined by juniors
Davis Bone (Biology) and
Cam Martin (Culinary Arts / Food & Beverage Industry Management), and sophomores
Cooper Betancourt (Business Administration),
Max Chagovets (Business Administration),
Brad Crook (Business Administration),
Joe Freeman (Business Administration),
Jake Inzirillo (Business Administration),
Connor Nelson (Sports, Entertainment, Event-Management),
Harout Torosian (Business Administration), and
Ryan Walsh (Business administration). Graduate student
Declan Dennehy (Criminal Justice) rounded out the group.
Seniors
Harmony Chicoose (Exercise and Sports Science),

Reese Middendorf (Hospitality Management),
Cassidy Rockwood (Biology),
Sofia Tamayo (Criminal Justice), and
Jianna Truppi (Biology) topped the list of 14 women's student-athletes. Four juniors –
Allyson Barry (Sports, Entertainment, Event-Management),
Alexia Labre (Psychology),
Kylie O'Keefe (Biology), and
Zoe Tow (Biology) – were joined by sophomores
Sophia Brea (International Business),
Sadie Davignon (undecided),
Brynn Leahy (Sports, Entertainment, Event-Management), and
Hannah Tsouvalas (Business Administration).
In January and June each academic year, the Conference recognizes an Academic All-Conference Team. Each member institution is responsible for determining its qualified student-athletes. Criteria for recognition is: at least sophomore status athletically and academically with one academic year in residence at their current institution; hold a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher on a 4.0 scale; active member of a roster for a Conference-sponsored sport.
The January recognition covers men's and women's soccer, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's tennis, women's volleyball, field hockey, men's golf, and football. The June recognition includes men's and women's basketball, men's and women's ice hockey, baseball, men's and women's lacrosse, softball, men's tennis and men's and women's track and field student-athletes.
Graduate transfers, regardless of enrollment at their current institution, are eligible. First years, freshmen and undergraduate transfers in their first semester at their current institution are not eligible.
