JWU allows four second-period goals in loss to Bison

PAWTUCKET, R.I. – Freshman Noah LaFleur scored his fifth goal of the season for the JWU (Providence) men's hockey team in a 6-3 loss to Nichols College Friday night in Conference of New England action Friday night at Lynch Arena.

Senior Kadyn Fennell and sophomore Joe Freeman also found the back of the net for the Wildcats, who were outshot 29-18 and went 0-for-5 on the power play. Graduate student Noel Parker was one of five JWU student-athletes to register an assist, along with senior Sam Band, sophomores Connor Nelson and Chris Alexander, and freshman Joseph Sciabarra.

JWU led 2-1 at the end of one behind goals from Fennell and LaFleur, but the Bison ripped off the next five goals – including two on the PP and one shorthanded – to grab a 5-2 lead early in the third. Freeman's second goal of the season at 9:39 of the third capped the scoring.

Sophomore Jake Inzirillo recorded 12 saves for the Wildcats before being lifted in the third in favor of freshman Maxim Zinchenko, who finished the evening with 11 saves.
