No. 15 Gulls skate past Wildcats, 4-1

BEVERLY, Mass. – Sophomore Jake Inzirillo turned aside 57 shots for the JWU (Providence) men's ice hockey team in a 4-1 loss to No. 15 Endicott College Saturday afternoon in Conference of New England men's ice hockey action at Raymond J. Bourque Arena.

Sophomore Connor Nelson found the back of the net for the Wildcats (9-13-2, 4-11-2 CNE), who were outshot 61-19 and went 0-for-4 on the power play. Senior Conner Lindsoe was credited with an assist on the goal while freshman Jack Lamothe blocked three shots and senior Sam Band won a team-high nine draws.

The Gulls (16-7-1, 13-3-3 CNE) scored a shorthanded marker in the first and doubled their lead 60 seconds into the second period. Nelson's third goal of the season at 3:51 of the second cut the Wildcats deficit in half before the home team restored its two-goal lead less than five minutes later. Endicott tacked on an insurance marker seven minutes into the third to cap the scoring.
