Still here: JWU remains No. 1 in The Open Mat Team Tournament Rankings

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The JWU (Providence) wrestling program remained at No. 1 in the latest The Open Mat Team Tournament Rankings and No. 4 in the Team Dual Rankings (February 12).

The Wildcats have seven student-athletes in the national rankings:
  • Senior Joziah Fry (125 lbs.): No. 1 with a 34-0 record (1-0 this week)
  • Freshman Peyton Ellis (133 lbs.): No. 2 with a 25-1 record (1-0 this week)
  • Junior Cameron Soda (141 lbs.): No. 2 with a 20-2 record
  • Senior Hayden Brown (157 lbs.): No. 1 with a 30-1 record (1-0 this week)
  • Sophomore Jack Richardson (165 lbs.): No. 4 with a 25-4 record (1-0 this week)
  • Graduate student Dylan Harr (197 lbs.): No. 11 with a 10-3 record
  • Junior Adolfo Betancur (285 lbs.): No. 11 with a 19-5 record (1-0 this week)
Fresh off a 45-9 win over in-state rival Roger Williams in the 'Battle of the WU's' on Thursday night, the Wildcats will participate in the NEWA Futures on Sunday, February 23.
