PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The JWU (Providence) wrestling team closed the 2025-26 campaign No. 16 in
The Open Mat Team Dual rankings and No. 20 in the Team Tournament rankings.
Junior
Jack Richardson wrapped the 2025-26 season
No. 5 at 165 lbs. The Danielson, Connecticut went 4-2 at the NCAA Division III Wrestling National Championship March 13-14 and finished the season with a 31-4 record. His biggest win at nationals was a 1-0 triumph over top-seeded Clayton McDonough (Luther) in the blood round.
Freshman
Nico Rivera – who earned All-America honors at 125 lbs. with a sixth-place finish at nationals – closed his first year of collegiate competition with a 34-7 record and a
No. 6 ranking. The Schenectady, New York native went 4-2 at nationals, including a win over No. 6 Matt Griffin (TCNJ).
Graduate student
Thomas DiResta (157 lbs.) went 1-2 at nationals and closed the season
No. 19 in the rankings. He posted a 16-5 mark this past season.
The defending national champions sent three student-athletes to the championships this season and placed 20th (23.5 points).
