BRISTOL, R.I. – The JWU (Providence) wrestling team placed second at the Roger Williams Invitational Saturday as five student-athletes finished first and a total of 15 placed.

Freshman
Nico Rivera (125 lbs.) went 4-0, highlighted by wins nationally-ranked No. 15 Nikko Beato from Coast Guard in the semifinals (4-1) and No. 5 Chris Hong from Wesleyan (CT) in the finals (17-6).
Junior
Jack Richardson (165 lbs.) also went 4-0 and defeated No. 15 Chase Anestis (Plymouth St.) in the finals, 4-3. Sophomore
Peyton Ellis (133 lbs.) also captured first with a 4-0 mark, including a win nationally-ranked No. 5 Jake Craig (Southern Me.).
Junior
Anthony Fernandez (197 lbs.) won four matches (three via pin) and defeated No. 5 Christian Curley (Bridgewater State) to earn first. Freshman
Brayden Soleau placed second after going 3-1, including wins over the seventh and eighth-ranked wrestlers in the region. His day ended with a loss to the defending national finalist in the finals.
Graduate student
Shane Reitsma (174 lbs.) took down No. 3 Caden Stout (Coast Guard), 5-2, and finished his afternoon 4-0. Sophomore
Caiden Talento (141 lbs.) secured wins in five of six matches and finished sixth as he maxed out his match limit.
Junior
Vincent Faldetta (157 lbs.) was 3-1 and placed second following a loss to a national qualifier. Freshman
Wyatt Brock (149 lbs.) posted a 5-2 mark on the day and placed fourth while classmate
Jahir Aguilar (133 lbs.) won four of his six matches and finished fourth.
Sophomore
Zach Miller (184 lbs.) was 4-1 and finished third while freshman
Barron Ransom took fifth following a 4-2 performance. Sophomore
Tyler Colclough and freshman
Ben Wilcox (197 lbs.) each went 3-2; Wilcox tallied three pins to finish fourth while Colclough took fifth. Sophomore
Anthony Marino (174 lbs.) placed fourth with a 3-2 effort.
Coast Guard was first (188.5), followed by the Wildcats (180.5), Roger Williams (111), Wesleyan (CT) (104), Southern Me. (78.5), Bridgewater St. (62.5), Bridgeport (40.5), Plymouth St. (32), and Maine Maritime (11).
