PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The JWU (Providence) women's and men's soccer teams both appeared in this week's United Soccer Coaches (USC) Division III Region II Poll. The women come in at No. 7 in the debut edition of the poll while the men are No. 8.
USC Rankings: Women / Men
The women's squad closed the week with a scoreless tie at Suffolk on Wednesday which moved their record to 8-7-2 thus far in 2025 (6-2-1 Conference of New England). The Wildcats enter the final week of regular season competition in second place with 19 points, one ahead of both Roger Williams and Hartford in the race for a first-round bye.
Junior and reigning CNE Player of the Week
Sophia Warburton has four goals in her last three matches and leads JWU with seven to go along with a team-best 17 points.
The men, meanwhile, own a 7-5-4 mark (5-2-2 CNE) and look to snap a two-game losing skid in the regular season finale Tuesday night against Western New England. The Wildcats currently hold the No. 4 seed in the conference playoffs with 17 points, and a win against the Golden Bears would clinch a playoff berth.
Senior
Carlos Andrade boasts a team-leading seven goals and 18 points. Junior
Christopher Vargas' seven assists is tops on JWU.
Fellow CNE members Roger Williams (No. 3) and Suffolk (No. 5) appear in the men's rankings while Hartford (No. 3), Roger Williams (No. 6), and UNE (No. 8) appear on the women's side.
