PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The JWU (Providence) wrestling team ran the table at the 2024 New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) Duals on Sunday afternoon at the Wildcat Center, defeating Bridgewater St. (55-7), Trinity (CT) (57-0), Springfield (41-4), and Coast Guard (16-15) to take home the championship.
 
Junior Joziah Fry secured wins over No. 2 ranked Chase Randall (Coast Guard), No. 3 Gianni Manginelli (Springfield), and No. 7 Malcolm Chrispin (Bridgewater St.) at 133 lbs.
 
Classmate Gabriel Leo-Esparolini (141 lbs.) picked up wins over No. 6 ranked Ryan Kozdra (Springfield) and No. 7 Owen Woolcott (Coast Guard. Freshman Jack Richardson entered the event No. 4 in the region and upended No. 3 ranked Noah Caskey (Coast Guard) in the finals at 157 lbs.
 
Junior and No. 5 ranked Patrick Wisniewski secured a win over Steven Rochard of Coast Guard at 165 lbs. in the finals. Sophomore and No. 3 ranked Harrison Gordon upended No. 7 Alex Schaeublin (Trinity (CT)) at 125 lbs.
