LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The JWU-Providence softball team finished No. 4 in the nation among Division III institutions in the
2022-23 Easton/National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Team Grade Point Average (GPA) rankings.
The Wildcats – who won 29 games this past spring to earn the No. 1 seed in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Tournament – recorded a team GPA of 3.75, which trailed only Middlebury (3.767), York (PA) (3.761), and Pomona-Pitzer (3.755).
Additionally, 14 student-athletes were named to the
Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes:

Rachel Gosselin,
Meaghan Gurska,
Julia Huzi,
Mady Lyons,

Emma Schweitzer, and
Jadyn Torres.

The rankings and honors recognize the academic prowess of softball teams across the Association's membership categories. NCAA Division I led the way with 2,515 student-athletes earning a 3.5 grade-point average or higher for 2022-23. NCAA Division III followed with 2,369 and NCAA Division II with 1,790. Junior Colleges and NAIA came in with 944 and 666 student-athletes, respectively. Team GPAs and scholar-athletes are submitted by member head coaches.
