CASTLETON, Vt. – The No. 3 Johnson & Wales (RI) University wrestling team went 3-0 at the Castleton Quad on Saturday, defeating Springfield (48-4), Delaware Valley (55-5), and No. 18 Castleton (27-15).

Freshman and nationally-ranked No. 1 at 125 lbs. Joziah Fry went 3-0 on the day, winning two of his matches by fall and one by tech fall (16-0). Junior Hayden Brown also went 3-0 with fall wins in 1:09 and :58 seconds; the third came via forfeit.
Both junior Scott Defex (174 lbs.) and sophomore Patrick Wisniewski (165 lbs.) went 3-0 for the Wildcats; Defex won two of his three matches by pin while Wisniewski won two by decision and one via tech fall.
Senior Victor Perlleshi (141 lbs.) picked up a pair of pinfall wins while graduate student Tommy Wrzesien collected two wins by decision. A pair of heavyweights – graduate student Liridon Leka and reigning New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) Rookie of the Week Adolfo Betancur – racked up fall victories in under two minutes.
