PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The JWU-Providence wrestling team competed at the Scott Viera open on Saturday at Roger Williams University.

Junior
Dylan Harr (197 lbs.), along with sophomores
Mason Franklin (125 lbs.) and
Jake Eckerle (141 lbs.), all placed second in the weight class. The No. 2 seed Harr recorded three wins (two pins and one tech fall) before falling to the top seed from Navy in the finals.
Franklin picked up three wins (one pin) before falling in the finals to the top seed. The seventh-seeded Eckerle, meanwhile, upended the No. 6 ranked wrestler in the region and 2 seed from WNE in the semis by a score of 3-1, but was clipped in the finals by the top seed, 4-3.
Third-place finishers for JWU included sophomore
Noah Krakower (141 lbs.), who finished his afternoon with a 5-1 record; freshman
Jesse Baldwin (165 lbs.), who went 4-1; and graduate student
John Iglesias (285 lbs.), who went 4-1 (two pins) and whose only loss of the day was to the No. 1 seed from TCNJ.
Junior
Edward Marinilli (149 lbs.) went 5-1 (three pins, two tech falls) and would have to settle for fourth place per an NCAA match limit rule that would not allow him to wrestle for third. Senior
Thomas DiResta also placed fourth after going 6-1 and succumbing to the same NCAA rule as Marinilli.
