Wrestling opens weekend with win over Brockport

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Johnson & Wales (RI) University wrestling team took down Brockport 25-9 Saturday morning on the campus of WPI.

Graduate student Liridon Leka won a 3-1 decision at 285 lbs. while senior Ryan DeVivo picked up a win via pin in 2:50 at 184 lbs. and junior Scott Defex also won via fall in 2:02. Freshman Nicholas Torres won by majority decision (15-4) at 133 lbs.

Winners by decision included junior Thomas DiResta (4-0) at 157 lbs., sophomore Gabriel Leo (5-2) at 141 lbs., and freshman Ryan O'Rourke at 125 lbs. (6-2).
