BRISTOL, R.I. – The Johnson & Wales University wrestling team placed second at the Scott Viera Open this past weekend at Roger Williams University.

Freshman Ryan O'Rourke was champion at 125 lbs. by virtue of a perfect 3-0 record. Senior Victor Perlleshi won all four of his matches competing in the 141 lb. weight class and also was crowned champion.

Junior Thomas DiResta went 3-1 at 149 lbs. and placed second, as did freshman Nathan Ickes at 285 lbs. (1-1 record). Sophomores Jordan Suarez (141 lbs.) and Dominic Pugliese (174 lbs.) each posted a 3-1 record and placed third in the respective weight class.

Naval Academy Prep won the event with a total of 89 points, followed by the Wildcats (71.5 points). Springfield (50.5), RWU (46.5), and both Bridgewater St. and Sacred Heart (30 points each) rounded out the top five.
