JERSEY CITY, N.J. – Longtime Johnson & Wales (RI) University wrestling head coach Lonnie Morris secured career wins No. 399 and 400 as the Wildcats defeated both NJCU and NYU Saturday at the John J. Moore Athletic and Fitness Center on the campus of NJCU. Morris becomes the 31st head coach across all NCAA levels of wrestling competition to achieve this milestone.

The Wildcats opened the day with a 43-9 triumph over the Gothic Knights. Sophomore Gabriel Leo needed just 1:09 to close out his match at 141 lbs. while freshman Adolfo Betancur secured a win in the heavyweight class in only nine seconds. Classmate Harrison Gordon also won by fall in 2:20 at 125 lbs., as did sophomore Dylan Harr at 197 lbs. (:32 seconds).
Freshman and national No. 1 Joziah Fry defeated his NYU counterpart in just under six minutes by final, helping the Wildcats to a 35-12 win. Senior Ryan DeVivo also picked up a win by pin at 184 lbs. (2:48) while both Leo and senior Gabe McDaniel won by majority decision.
