Wildcats Fall 8-4 to Hawks

PROVIDENCE, RI – A five-run second inning did in the Johnson & Wales University baseball team on Wednesday. The Wildcats lost an 8-4 decision to Roger Williams University.

Of Note:
The Wildcats opened the scoring in the bottom of the first. Colby Greenhalgh delivered a leadoff single, moved up on a walk and came around to score on a single to center field by Adam Diehl.

The Hawks chased JWU starter Ryan Depatie out of the game after a five-run second inning. The Wildcats didn't help Depatie's cause as they committed two errors in the inning. Ben Bonavita drove in a pair of runs with a single.

JWU sliced the lead to 5-3 with an Armani Henderson single in the third and a Greenhalgh sacrifice fly in the fourth.

Roger Williams put the game out of reach with a run in the sixth and two more off the bat of Bonavita in the seventh.

Michael Farrell gave up one run in three innings of relief to pick up the victory. DePatie was saddled with the loss.
