Jack Obert drove in two runs in an 11-3 loss for the JWU (Providence) baseball team to nationally-ranked Salve Regina University Friday afternoon in non-conference action at Reynolds Field.
Junior
Jeff Valdez Jimenez finished the afternoon 3-for-3 and also picked up an RBI when he was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the first for the Wildcats (6-13). Sophomore
Yedan Diaz picked up two of JWU's eight hits in a game which featured seven different pitchers for the visitors.
The Wildcats held a 3-2 lead entering the sixth before the fourth-ranked Seahawks (15-2) struck for five runs to move in front 7-3. They tacked on one in the seventh and three more in the eighth to secure the win.
Freshman
Ryan Barrington started on the bump for the Wildcats and fanned four in two scoreless innings of work. Sophomore
Joaquin Cardoso also punched out four in 1.2 innings of work.
