Baseball drops two at Curry

MILTON, Mass. – The JWU (Providence) baseball team drop a pair of Conference of New England (CNE) games to Curry College Saturday afternoon at Jack Vallely Diamond.

Game One: Colonels 7, Wildcats 3
Junior Diego Taveras laced a two-run double and freshman Sam Schoenberg notched an RBI to stake JWU to a three-run lead in the fourth. The Colonels then took advantage of three Wildcat errors to put up a '5' spot in their half of the frame before adding single runs in the fifth and sixth. Redshirt junior Max Randazzo allowed four hits and six runs (two earned) to go with four walks and 10 strikeouts over five in defeat.

Game Two: Colonels 6, Wildcats 3
Schoenberg and sophomore Jeremy Auren each had two hits and redshirt senior Ryan Ducey drove in two runs, one on a groundout in the third and another with a sac fly in the fifth. Senior Jack Obert picked up an RBI double in support of junior Brett Nickerson, who was tagged for nine this and five runs (four earned) with no walks and four punchouts.
