Box Score

PROVIDENCE, RI – A close game between crosstown rivals Johnson & Wales University and Rhode Island College was blown open in the seventh inning. Unfortunately, the Wildcats came out on the short end Thursday, falling 18-8 to the Anchormen.

Records:
Rhode Island College: 18-7
Johnson & Wales: 17-9

Statistical Leaders:
Joe Maracic (JWU): 3-4, 3 RBI
Alex Domingos (JWU) 1-4, 1 R, 4 RBI

Of Note:
A two-run double by Joe Maracic in the second inning got the Wildcats out to a fast start. Johnson & Wales took a 7-1 lead on an Alex Domingos grand slam in the fifth.

The Anchormen got four runs back in their half of the fifth and four more in the sixth. While the Wildcats picked up a run in the sixth on a Maracic single, any hopes of a JWU comeback were dashed in a seven-run, seventh inning.

Up Next:
The Wildcats jump back into conference action on Saturday when they host Suffolk at 1 pm. Prior to the game, JWU honor the five seniors on this year's team.
