Trailing 9-8 in the bottom of the seventh, Joe Maracic got a one-out single. Tim Lombardi drew a walk then came around to score the winning run on a two-out double by Armani Henderson.

The Monks chased JWU starter James Smiegocki out of the game in the second inning after scoring four runs in both the first and second innings. Greg Emanuelson cranked a solo home run in the second.

With the help of numerous Saint Joseph's errors, the Wildcats were able to chip away at the SJC lead. The Monks committed five errors.

In the fourth, Lombardi singled in Colby Greenhalgh and Maracic after Greenhalgh reached on an error. Maracic scored again in the fifth when Retsyn Ootton's fly ball was dropped by the right fielder.

Rookie Dane DellaValle came on in the second for Smiegocki and kept the Monks at bay the rest game. He gave up one run on two hits for his third win of the year.

Game two was a pitcher's duel between JWU's Josh Mousseau and the Monks' Matt Bergeron. Mousseau got the victory, giving up one run on five hits with seven strikeouts. Bergeron only surrendered two runs on eight hits.

Lombardi drove in both runs for the Wildcats. Following Emanuelson's RBI single in the third, Lombardi blasted his first home run of the season. He scored Anthony Roman in the fifth with the game-winning run.
