Vikings Outslug Wildcats 16-14

SALEM, Mass – Only darkness could stop the Johnson & Wales University and Salem State University baseball teams from scoring runs. The Vikings scored 12 times in their last three at-bats for a 16-14 victory over the Wildcats on Wednesday.

Of Note:
The game was halted by darkness in the eighth inning.

The Wildcats got out to an 8-1 run after their half of the third. In the second inning, Joe Maracic had an RBI double to score Vin Amalfitano with his second run of the game. Alex Domingos roped a triple in the third to plate Armani Henderson.

Steve Rocchio started a three-run sixth with a single to score Adam Diehl then his single in the seventh ran the JWU lead to 15-13.

Salem State got back into the game with six runs in the fifth and three more in the sixth. Zac Duval gave the Vikings their first lead with a bases loaded single in the seventh.
