Box Score DARTMOUTH, Mass. – An unearned run in the seventh inning and two more in the eighth was too much for the Johnson & Wales University baseball team to overcome on Friday. The Wildcats were defeated 8-4 at UMass Dartmouth.

JWU was down 4-1 after two innings, but got within a run in the third. Joe Maracic's single scored Raimiel Rodriguez and Edison Mercado.
Mercado led the way with a pair of hits and a walk. He's reached base in 15 out of his last 16 games. Maracic also had two hits.
Pinch hitter Bryan Bessler reached on an error to start the seventh. He moved up to second when Rodriguez was hit by a pitch then scored on an Aidan Hagarty single.
A JWU throwing error in the seventh allowed UMD to get its sixth run off Wildcat starter Ryan Depatie. He was saddled with the loss after giving up six runs, four earned, on seven hits with five strikeouts.
