Box Score PROVIDENCE, RI – As soon as the Johnson & Wales University baseball team worked its way back into the game, visiting Babson College snatched the lead again. The Beavers defeated the Wildcats, 10-6, on Friday.

Of Note:
Babson got all three of its runs in the first inning with two outs. The big blow was a two-run home run by catcher Sean Harrington. Harrington had two hits, two runs and three RBIs.
Johnson & Wales started to chip away at the lead with three runs of their own in the third inning. Raimiel Rodriguez delivered a double to score Vin Amalfitano then came around to score himself on an Aidan Hagarty single.
The Wildcats chased Babson started Alex Luka out of the game in the fifth. Designated hitter Colby Greenhalgh had a leadoff single, stole second and scored on an opposite field single by Edison Mercado. Mercado and Amalfitano led the Wildcats with a trio of hits.
Aggressive base running allowed Babson to regain the lead in the sixth inning. After the Beavers beat out a double play, second baseman Ed Lehr lifted a single to the gap in left field to score Brian McHale and Alex DiMartino. McHale and right fielder Mark Webber tallied a trio of hits.
Babson freshman Ben Alexio came on in the fifth and threw three innings to pick up his first collegiate victory. Rich Marshall took the loss for JWU, giving up seven runs on nine hits in 5.1 innings.
