Box Score WILLIMANTIC, Conn. - Tim Lombardi ripped a two-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give the Johnson & Wales University baseball team a victory on Sunday. The Wildcats defeated Eastern Connecticut State, 6-4.

Of Note:
JWU dug itself a 4-0 hole after the first inning. Wildcat starter Keith Grant didn't allow another run the rest of the game. He struck out eight batters in 7.1 innings of work. Kyle Cutler threw a scoreless ninth for the first victory of his collegiate career.
The Wildcats started to chip away at the Warriors' lead with two in the second, including an RBI single from Lombardi to score Aidan Hagarty. A Kevin Duffy single to left field in the seventh tied the game as Hagarty and Edison Mercado came around to score.
Hagarty led all players with three hits and scored all three times he reached base. His third hit was a one-out single in the top of the ninth. Hagarty moved up to second on a wild pitch then scored on Lombardi's homer.
