The Johnson & Wales University IHSA Equestrian team placed fifth this past Saturday at the IHSA Show hosted by Becker College.

Emily Besaw (New London, Conn.) and Paige Hamilton (Kenilworth, N.J.) both brought home first place victories in the Walk Trot Canter Flat. Sophia Johnston (Berlin, Mass.) earned first place in the Novice Flat. Hannah Coutu (Morris, Conn.) came in third in Novice Fences and second in Intermediate Flat.

Erik Caci (Medway, Mass.) and Sarah DeLee (Amherst, N.H.) received second and third place awards in Open Flat, respectively. Rounding out the JWU competitors was Erin Lavigne (South Hero, Vt.) with a third place finish in Novice Flat.

The Wildcats are on the road next weekend at the UMass Dartmouth IHSA Show starting at 9:30 am.
