Nicole Speranzo took over the coaching reins of the JWU (Providence) IHSA program in September, 2025.
Speranzo spent three seasons as the head IHSA coach at nearby Roger Williams University (2022-25), where she oversaw and taught weekly lessons to groups of more than 20 student-athletes. In 2023, she coached the Zone 1 Region 1 Top Open Rider to a top 14 finish in the Cacchione Cup at IHSA Nationals.
Most recently, Spernazo worked as a trainer and equestrian professional at Sunflower Meadows Equestrian in Tiverton. She coached riders at shows in the Equestrian, Hunter, and Jumper divisions while providing pro-rides when necessary. Additionally, Speranzo purchased quality young horses to train, put miles in the show ring on and sell and/or lease out.
As an undergraduate, Speranzo placed second (of 16) in Novice Open Fences at Regionals in 2018 before finishing fifth in Novice Flat at the Region 1 Championship. The following season, Speranzo helped the Hawks qualify for Nationals.
Speranzo earned a Bachelor of Science from Roger Williams in 2019 and her Master of Business Administration the following year.
