ASHAWAY, R.I. – The JWU (Providence) IHSA program capped the fall season with a third-place finish at Hunter Ridge at a show hosted by the University of Rhode Island on Saturday, November 15.
URI was named Champion Team (34 points), followed by Brown (29), the Wildcats, Salve Regina (26), Rhode Island College (16), Roger Williams (12), Yale (eight), and Wesleyan (CT) (six).
First-place finishers for head coach
Nicole Speranzo included:
Adaline Hanes took second in Intermediate Fences and third in Intermediate Flat. Both
Ella Willard and
Delena Atwater placed second in Novice Flat (different sections).
Palagonia, meanwhile, finished third in Little Fences while
Danielle Smyrnios did the same in Novice Flat.
Kasey Normand also took third in Prenovice.
Fifth-place finishers included Stepanik (Open Flat), Taylor (Open Fences),
Kate Scherer (Limit Fences), and
Isabelle Pacella (Limit Fences).

All told, six student-athletes qualified for regionals this fall:

- Scarlett Siskind (Intermediate Flat)
- Caitlin Talbot (Introductory Flat)
Taylor is still leading Cacchione rider at the close of the fall season with 54 points with Stepanik close behind in third with 50.
The Wildcats closed the fall in second place in the overall points race with 169. URI was first with 180, followed by Salve Regina (153), Brown (134), Roger Williams (87), Rhode Island College (77), Holy Cross (23), Yale (22), Wesleyan (CT) (10), and Clark (MA) (0).
