ASHAWAY, R.I. – Sophomore Grace Taylor placed first in both Open Flat and Open Fences at the 2026 Zone 1 Region 1 Finals Sunday afternoon at Hunter Ridge.

Taylor will now compete in both events at the Zone 1 Championship on Sunday, April 4 at Mount Holyoke. The Stowe, Vermont native is also eligible for the Cacchione Cup.

Junior Scarlett Siskind placed first in Intermediate Flat and will compete at the Zone 1 Championships in the same event. She also rode to a fourth-place finish in Intermediate Fences.

Sophomore Kate Scherer qualified for the Zone 1 Championship with a first-place finish in Limit Fences. She also took before claiming sixth in Limit Flat, followed by junior Isabelle Pacella in eighth.

Junior Caitlin Talbot became the fourth Wildcat to earn a trip to the Zone 1 Championship by virtue of a win in Introductory Equitation on the Flat.

Senior Samantha Stepanik took third in Open Fences. Junior Ashley Vie placed fourth in Novice Equitation on the Flat while Jillian Gauch finished eighth.
