York, Pa. – The JWU (Providence) wrestling team placed sixth at the New Standard Corporate Invitational hosted by York (PA) College on Saturday.

Freshman
Brayden Soleau posted a 4-1 record and earned a third-place finish at 285 lbs. His lone defeat on the day came at the hands of Carter Stack (Washington & Lee).
Classmate
Nico Rivera (125 lbs.) suffered his first two defeats of the season and finished the tournament with a 4-2 mark. He was upended by two-time national runner-up Christian Guzman (North Central (IL)) in the semis and national qualifier Joey DeAngelo (TCNJ) in the blood round.
Sophomore
Peyton Ellis (133 lbs.) won five of his six matches and placed third with a forfeit win over Jay McDonnell (Ithaca) in the consolation finals.
Graduate student
Shane Reitsma fell 3-2 to Jake Luce (North Central (IL)) in the semis of the 174 lb. bracket before securing a 16-1 tech fall (5:15) in the consolation finals over Matthew Ferrucci (Merchant Marine).
Senior
Mason Franklin (125 lbs.) recorded two pins en route to a 5-3 afternoon and a sixth-place finish. Freshman
John Betancourt (197 lbs.) fell in the quarterfinals but went on to place fourth, finishing the day with a 4-2 mark.
