ASHWAY, R.I. – The JWU (Providence) IHSA program was named Reserve Champion at Hunter Ridge Saturday.
Junior
Scarlett Siskind opened the day with a win in the Open Flat, followed by sophomore
Grace Taylor in second and senior
Samantha Stepanik in fifth. Classmate
Isabelle Pacella made her debut in intermediate flat and finished second while senior
Adaline Hanes – who was second in Intermediate Fences – claimed fourth.
Pacella grabbed third in Little Fences (Section B), and junior
Emma Palagonia was third in Limit Flat (section B) and fourth in Little Fences (Section C). Stepanik and Taylor finished second and fourth, respectively, in Open Fences.

Danielle Smyrnios in Novice Section A (first), junior
Ashley Vie in Novice Section C (third), freshman
Kasey Normand in PreNovice (third), freshman
Sofia Vaca in Introductory (fourth), and freshman
Isabella Lawson in Novice Section B (sixth)
Taylor remains in the lead for Cacchione cup standings with 45 total points total in both open fences and open flat. Stepanik is close behind in third with 31 points.
URI placed first with 29 points, followed by the Wildcats, Salve Regina (24), Brown (23), Roger Williams (20), Yale (14), Rhode Island College (11), Holy Cross (11), and Wesleyan (CT) (four).
