BEVERLY, Mass. – JWU (Providence) field hockey senior
Rebecca Johnson has been named the recipient of the Conference of New England (CNE) Elite 21 Award.
The award goes to the student-athlete with the highest GPA among all student-athletes competing in each of the CNE's 21 championships.
Johnson – who received the award prior to the start of the Wildcats quarterfinal match with Western New England this past weekend – is a criminal justice major who hold a 4.0 grade point average (GPA). She was twice named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (CNE) Academic All-Conference Team (2023-24). The Basking Ridge, New Jersey native also earned a spot on the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III National Academic Squad last fall.
On the field, Johnson graduates having appeared in 30 games during her career, going 4-0 with a 0.48 goals against average (GAA) and a .727 save pct.
