JWU well represented on NFHCA Academic Teams

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Eleven members of the JWU (Providence) field hockey team were amongst the more than 1,800 outstanding undergraduate student-athletes from 147 institutions named to the 2025 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III National Academic Squad.

Seniors Rebecca Johnson (Criminal Justice) and Caitlin Quinn (Culinary Arts) were joined on the team by juniors Sophia Brea (International Business) and Ava Pontes (Psychology); sophomores Susannah Brown (Sports, Entertainment, Event – Management), Kara Miller (Dietetics and Applied Nutrition), Kyra Rose-Espinoza (Baking & Pastry Arts), Zoe Soletsky (Culinary Nutrition); and freshmen Emily Beal (Biology) and Charlotte Labossiere (Sports, Entertainment, Event-Management).

Sponsored by OPA Winning Teams, the NFHCA National Academic Squad program honors undergraduate student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher through the fall semester, nominated by their NFHCA member coaches.

Additionally, 543 exceptional undergraduate student-athletes received Scholars of Distinction honors. This honor celebrates student-athletes who earned a cumulative GPA of 3.90 or higher through the fall semester and were nominated by their NFHCA member coaches. Beal, Brea, Johnson, Labossiere, Miller, and Soletsky received this accolade.
