REHOBOTH, Mass. – The JWU (Providence) opened the 2025-26 season by earning Reserve Champion status at a six-team event at Bluemead Stables Saturday afternoon.
The Wildcats started the day with the over fences divisions with
Adaline Hanes placing sixth in Intermediate Over Fences. In a highly competitive Limit Over Fences division,
Isabelle Pacella and
Emma Palagonia took home second and third, respectively. On the flat,
Caitlin Talbot kicked off the day with a fifth-place in Introductory.
The Open Flat riders followed with
Samantha Stepanik finishing second and
Grace Taylor close behind in third. In a competitive Intermediate Flat class,
Adaline Hanes and
Scarlett Siskind earned third and fourth place finishes, respectively.
In the Limit Flat division,
Katherine Scherer took home the win while Palagonia secured third in the second section.
Ashley Vie rode to a third-place finish in Novice Flat among a large field of competitors and freshman
Isabella Lawson wrapped up the day with a strong third-place finish in Pre-Novice Flat.
URI was named Champion Team (30 points), followed by the Wildcats, Brown (22), Salve Regina (20), Roger Williams (19), and Rhode Island College (16).
