PROVIDENCE, R.I. – JWU-Providence junior
Emily DeRoehn capped her 2023 season by earning a spot on the 2023
United Soccer Coaches (USC) Division III All-America Third Team.
DeRoehn tied for second in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) in goals (12) and placed fourth with 27 points. Named GNAC Defensive Player of the Year and to the GNAC First Team for the second-consecutive season, DeRoehn scored two goals in three matches in 2023 – Anna Maria (Sept. 23), Albertus Magnus (10/24), and the GNAC Semifinals against Colby-Sawyer (Nov. 1) – and was named to the GNAC All-Tournament Team.
In 62 career matches (58 starts), DeRoehn has 58 points on 25 goals and eight assists.
DeRoehn – the lone representative from the GNAC – becomes the second JWU women's soccer student-athlete to earn All-America honors, joining former teammate
Jordan Restivo, who garnered AA accolades last fall. Last week, DeRoehn was named to has been named to the 2023 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic Women's Soccer All-District Team.
