Wildcats rally late to down Pilgrims, 2-1

Box Score ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Junior Haylee Owen and sophomore Zoe Tow scored 3:49 apart late in the third to propel the JWU-Providence women's hockey team to a 2-1 win over New England College Friday night in New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) action Friday night at the New England Sports Village.

Senior Leah White turned aside 21 of 22 shots to backstop the Wildcats (1-4-0, 1-2-0 NEHC) to their first win of the season. Junior Reese Middendorf collected a pair of assists, as did sophomores Allyson Barry and Kylie O'Keefe.

Trailing 1-0 with less than seven minutes remaining in regulation, the Wildcats got a fortunate bounce to tie the game. Middendorf send the puck forwards the net from the left point, and the puck struck the skate of O'Keefe and ricocheted over to Owen, who chipped the puck into the net.

Less than four minutes later, Barry sent a bouncing puck towards the net that was redirected by Tow for the game-winner. Middendorf started the play and was credited with the second assist.

JWU closed the night with a 25-22 edge in shots.
