Wildcats roll into playoffs following 3-2 OT win over Rams

EAST BOSTON, Mass. – Junior Sophia Brea scored the game-winning goal 1:43 into overtime to propel the JWU (Providence) women's ice hockey team to a 3-2 win over Suffolk University Saturday evening in Conference of New England (CNE) action at Porrazzo Skating Rink.

Sophomores Grace Adams and Jordan Hopping scored during regulation as the Wildcats extended their program-record for wins to 13 heading into Wednesday's CNE quarterfinal against No. 6 Curry. The home playoff game will be the first in the 11-year history of the program.

JWU trailed 2-1 late in the third when Hopping tied the game at two with the goalie on the bench for the extra attacker. Seniors Kylie O'Keefe and Allyson Barry were credited with assists on the goal.

The Wildcats outshot the Rams, 37-17, and received 15 saves from sophomore netminder Katelyn Cardoso en route to her ninth win of the season.
