Engineers Rally to Beat Wildcats 11-10

BOSTON –The Johnson & Wales University women's lacrosse team couldn't hold on to a second-half lead at MIT. The Engineers rallied to beat the Wildcats, 11-10, on Wednesday. 

Records:
MIT: 5-5
Johnson & Wales: 7-4

Goalkeepers:
MIT: Hannah Adams (W 4-3), 11 Saves, 10 Goals
JWU: Cassidy O'Hara (L 6-3), 12 Saves, 11 Goals

Statistical Leaders:
MIT: Rayna Higuchi 4 Goals, 1 Assist
JWU: Maria Patane 3 Goals, 1 Assist 

Of Note:
Maria Patane scored the first of her team-high three goals less than one minute into the contest. 

Midway through the half, the Wildcats went on a 3-0 run that included a pair of Juliana Giello goals. The Engineers found the back of the net with less than one minute left in the half to cut the JWU lead to 6-3.

The Wildcats edged the Engineers in shots, 18-14, in the first half.

Two Allison Pazienski goals staked JWU to a 10-4 lead with 13:09 left in the game. Unfortunately, the Engineers went on a 7-0 run with the winning goal scored with just eight seconds left in the game.

The Engineers outshot the Wildcats in the second half, 15-12.

The Wildcats return home Saturday to take on Emmanuel for a 3 pm start.
