STANDISH, MAINE – The JWU (Providence) women's outdoor track & field team captured the 2025 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championship in its inaugural season of competition.
The Wildcats finished with 177 points, which was ahead of second-place Emmanuel (MA) with 152 points, St. Joseph's (ME) (136), Colby-Sawyer (62), Regis (MA) (46), Lasell (25), and Simmons (17).

Sophomore and GNAC Indoor Track & Rookie of the Year
Lulani Haslinger placed first in the 1500m run (5:06.34), 5,000m run (18:52.25), and 3,000m steeplechase (12:20.70). The Groton, New York native also placed second in the 10,000m run (39:36.78) and third in the 800m run (2:32.17).
Freshman
Ayevah Marinez took second in both the 100m (13.00) and 200m (26.59) dash. Sophomore
Catherine Migre finished fourth in the 400m dash (1:03.06) and fifth in the 400m hurdles (1:15.24) while freshman
Kyla Leahy captured eighth in the 100m hurdles (17.98).
The 4x400m relay team of Marinez, Migre, junior
Katelyn O'Brien, and freshman
Alexandra Szelag placed third (4:24.03), as did the 4x800m grouping of Haslinger, Migre, sophomore
Piper Jean-Ferguson, and freshman
Caroline Carter.
The Wildcats produced the top four finishers in the pole vault: freshman
Melissa Charles (2.60m), sophomore
Samantha Miller (2.45m), freshman
Riley Veits (2.30m), and Migre (2.15m).
In the hammer throw, sophomore
Lena Nicholson (37.89m), freshman
Molly McCarthy (36.88m), and sophomore
Erika Sanders (36.50m) finished 2-3-4. Sanders went on to win the shot put (10.87m) while Nicholson was sixth (9.69m) and O'Brien seventh (9.57m).
Nicholson won the discus (30.72m) while O'Brien took fourth (28.06m), Veits grabbed sixth (27.38), and freshman
Jade Ettienne (26.92m) placed eighth. O'Brien finished second in the javelin (36.44m), ahead of sophomore
Brynn Leahy (28.72m) in fourth and classmate
Valenah Mahabal (27.07m) in sixth.
Sophomore
Olivia Weldin finished second in the high jump (1.46m) and seventh in the long jump (4.58m).
The top three finishers in all events garnered all-conference honors; all members of the third-place relay teams also received all-conference nods.
