Wildcats continue spring season at Jaylin Rainford Invite

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Juniors Olivia Weldin and Valenah Mahabal each placed eighth in the high jump for the JWU (Providence) women's outdoor track and field team at the Jaylin Rainford Invite, hosted by Bryant University. Both student-athletes posted a score of 1.40m in the event.

Graduate student Aliyah Wilson placed ninth in the long jump (5.05m) while junior Fallon Preble took ninth in the 200m dash (27.06). Senior Avery Goshert, meanwhile, finished seventh in the 5000m run (19:38.99).

Other top finishes for the Wildcats included:
  • The 4x100m relay team of Wilson, Alison Quiambao, Preble and Ayevah Marinez finished third (50.84)
  • Lena Nicholson placed 13th in the discus (33.14m) and 26th in the hammer (34.08m)
  • Rhiana Thomas placed 13th in the shot put (10.62m) and 21st in the hammer (36.77m)
  • Quiambao (13.46) and Marinez (13.55) finished 14th-15th in the 100m dash
  • Brynn Leahy placed 16th in the javelin (26.30m)
  • Lauren Stanger snared 17th place in the shot put (10.44m)
  • Allison Borduin captured 19th in the 5000m run (21:31.66) (college unseeded)
  • Lulani Haslinger took 19th in the 500m run (19:31.54) (college seeded)
  • Ava Wilder (4.16m) and Sheriyah Hicks (4.07m) were 19th-20th in the long jump
  • Preble also competed in the 400m dash, where she finished 20th (1:05.03)
