Sanders, Haslinger lead Wildcats at Spartan Invitational

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – The JWU (Providence) women's track & field team competed at the Spartan Invitational Friday at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.

Sophomore Lulani Haslinger finished 12th in the mile (5:23.40) and 16th in the 800m (2:30.40), a time which is currently the best in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC).

Classmate Erika Sanders placed 13th in the weight throw (12.52m), which is currently tops in the GNAC.

Other finishers included:

Freshman Alaysia Royal placed 51st in the 200m dash (28.73)
Sophomore Ayevah Marinez took 41st in the 400m dash (1:09.07)
Graduate student Marissa Lombardi finished 23rd in the 3000m (11:32.89)
Sanders placed 30th in shot put (8.86m) and classmate Lena Nicholson finished 34th (8.58m).
