Cimino named Manager of Intramural Programming and Club Sports

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – JWU (Providence) Director of Athletics Dana Garfield has announced the hiring of Kristopher Cimino as Manager of Intramural Programming and Club Sports.

Cimino is a 2024 graduate of Nova Southeastern in Davie, Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management. As an undergraduate, Cimino was heavily involved with the intramurals programs at NSU, where he received both the Innovator Award and Problem Solver Award from NSU Intramural Sports.

"Kris quickly rose to the top of the candidate pool because of his extensive experience working in intramurals as an undergraduate," said Garfield. "His proposals on both how to improve our current programs as well as expand our offerings resonated with everyone on the search committee. I am looking forward to Kris enhancing the undergraduate experience for all students at Johnson & Wales."

Cimino began his tenure working in intramurals at NSU as a referee (2022-23) before being promoted to supervisor (2023-24). His duties as a supervisor included training new employees, delegating tasks to staff members, coordination and oversight of activities, and resolving and de-escalating conflicts between participants and staff.

Most recently, Cimino worked as a team operations and equipment intern with Rhode Island FC, where he assisted with equipment prep for practices and matches, team travel and logistics, and player transportation. He worked as an ambassador for the Miami Marlins during the summer of 2023, assisting with gameday activities, theme nights, special events, and community outreach.

Cimino is a native of Cranston, Rhode Island.
