Haslinger, Charles pace Wildcats at USM Alumni Open

GORHAM, Maine – The JWU (Providence) women's track & field team competed at the University of Southern Maine Alumni Meet Saturday at Costello Field House.

Highlights from the meet included:
  • Sophomore Lulani Haslinger won the one mule run (5:31.46); her time is tops in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) by 15 seconds
  • The 4x400m relay team of Haslinger, and sophomores Catherine Migre, Ayevah Martinez, and Fallon Preble placed third (4:34.39)
  • Freshman Melissa Charles took second in the pole vault (2.60m); her jump currently leads the GNAC and would have won the event in 2024
  • Preble claimed fifth in the 200m dash (29.54) and Martinez placed fifth in the 300m dash (45.58)
  • Sophomore Erika Sanders finished eighth in the weight throw (12.05m) and set a personal record in the shot put (9.27m); the latter places her fifth in the conference rankings
