Emily DeRoehn and freshman
Jamie Davies have been named the 2024 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women's Soccer Defensive and Player and Rookie of the Year, respectively, and top the list of eight JWU (Providence) student-athletes to earn all-conference honors. Additionally, head coach
Chris Flint has been named the GNAC Coach of the Year.
DeRoehn – who was also named the DPOY in 2022 and 2023 – was named to the First Team for the fourth-consecutive season, where she was joined by classmate
Angelina Oliveira. Graduate student
Madison Sanborn, along with senior
Skyla Landry and sophomores
Grace Sheehan and
Sophia Warburton, were named to the Second Team while Davies earned a spot on the Third Team. Senior
Lindsey McNeill garnered a spot on the Sportsmanship Team.
A native of Old Lyme, Connecticut, DeRoehn finished her senior campaign with 16 points on six goals and four assists in 23 matches. She collected a season-high five points (2-1-5) in a win over Elms on September 4 and scored the GWG on a penalty kick at Colby-Sawyer one week later. DeRoehn was the linchpin of a defense which held opponents to just 14 goals in 23 matches and posted 16 shutouts.
DeRoehn – who netted the game-winner in the GNAC Quarterfinals against Regis (MA) on November 2 – finishes her career tied for No. 5 in game-winning goals (nine), tied for No. 7 in goals (31), and tied for No. 10 in points (74) in program history.
Oliveria finished tied for second on JWU with eight goals and her 19 points was good for fourth. A 2022 GNAC First Team and 2023 Second Team selection from Naugatuck, Connecticut, Oliveira scored goals in the GNAC playoffs against both the Pride and Emmanuel (MA) in the Championship this past Saturday, and notched a season-high three points (1-1-3) against Simmons back on September 14. She finished her career with 31 goals and 68 points; her goal total ties her with DeRoehn and Kelly Gil (2003-06) for No. 7 at JWU.
The 2023 GNAC Rookie of the Year, Warburton led the Wildcats in assists with 11 and finished second in points with 23. The Norfolk, Virginia native dished out a pair of assists against both Mitchell (Sept. 28) and Dean (Oct. 16), and tallied three game-winning goals, including the game-winner against the eventual conference champion Saints on October 5 in Boston, Mass. Warburton – who is averaging more than a point-per-match in her collegiate career (50 points in 46 matches) – has six GWG in her brief tenure at JWU.
After finding the back of the net once as a rookie in 2023, Sheehan exploded for 11 goals as a sophomore and finished with 25 points (11-3-25). The Monroe, Connecticut native led JWU with four game-winning goals and tallied three times at NEC on September 7.
Sanborn chalked up nine points on three goals and three helpers this past season, and graduates with 26 points (11-4-26) in 88 career matches (86 starts). A native of Wilbraham, Massachusetts, she converted a penalty kick against NEC (Sept. 7) and later notched a goal and an assist against the Mariners.

Trina Capezza, Landry's importance to the Wildcats is not based on points. The Coventry, Rhode Island appeared in 22 matches and handed out two assists during that time. Landry graduates with 23 points (6-11-23) in 79 collegiate matches.
Davies registered 19 points in 21 matches during her rookie campaign, burying eight goals to go with three assists. The Attleboro, Massachusetts native picked up her first collegiate hat trick and finished with seven points in a win over the Sharks, and capped the season with three game-winners: NEC (Sept. 7), Lasell (Oct. 12), and Norwich (Oct. 29).
McNeill is a two-time GNAC Academic All-Conference pick who appeared in 14 games this season and 46 during her career. She was a member of three GNAC Championship squads (2021-23).
The Wildcats finished the 2024 campaign with an 18-4-1 record and advanced to the GNAC Championship match for the fifth-consecutive season, where they fell to No. 2 Emmanuel (MA), 2-1.
