Women's Soccer rolls past Bridgewater State, 5-2

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Sophomore Rowan Garr scored a pair of goals and freshman Sofia Soares collected a goal and an assist for the JWU (Providence) women's soccer team in a 5-2 win at Bridgewater State University Wednesday night at Mazzaferro Field.

Sophomore Marcie Iannico registered her first goal of the season for the Wildcats (1-1-0), who rallied from an early 2-0 deficit to score five unanswered goals over the final 70 minutes of the match. Junior Sophia Warburton picked up two assists and classmate Jessica Lee added one as JWU outshot the Bears 16-8.

The Bears (0-2-0) struck for two goals in the opening 16:36 before Soares scored at 20:13 to bring the Wildcats to within one at the half. Garr's first marker of the match 2:18 into the second half knotted the game at two and Iannicco potted the eventual game-winner at 69:12.

Junior Ava Vaughan entered the match at the start of the second half and made two saves and moved to 1-1-0 with the win.
