NORTHFIELD, Vt. – The JWU (Providence) women's cross country team placed first at the Norwich Cadet Invitational Friday afternoon in Vermont.

The Wildcats cleared second-place Emmanuel (MA) by two points, finishing with 65 to the Saints 67. Norwich was third (100), followed by Colby-Sawyer (115), Regis (MA) (133), Lasell (140), American International (164), Rivier (171), St. Joseph's (ME) (193), and Elms (216).
Freshman
Caroline Carter was the top finisher for the Wildcats as she placed fourth overall at the 6k event with a time of 26:00.20. Graduate student
Marissa Lombardi was right behind Carter in fifth place with as time of 26:06.70.
Juniors
Avery Goshert and
Allison Borduin placed 14th and 15th, respectively, with times of 28:21.20 and 28:22.50. Sophomore
Piper-Jean Ferguson closed out the JWU squad with a 29th-place finish (30:21.40).
