Shepley headlines list of seven named to CNE All-Conference Teams

BEVERLY, Mass. – First-year Riley Shepley has been named the Conference of New England (CNE) Women's Lacrosse Rookie of the Year and was one of seven student-athletes to receive All-Conference honors.

Shepley was joined on the First Team by classmate Cassie Burke. First-year Sidney Mayers was named to the Second Team while senior Fara Holland, junior Alyssa Morrison, and first-year Maggie Fitzgerald earned a spot on the Third Team. First-year Sophia Frazier garnered a spot on the Community Service Team.

Shepley ended her season atop the CNE in points with 95; the San Diego native ranked second in goals (65) and fourth in assists (30). The four-time CNE Rookie of the Week racked up 12 hat tricks this season, including a pair of eight-goal efforts against Curry (April 11) and Wheaton (MA) (April 17).

Burke closed her first season in Providence No. 10 in the conference with 43 goals, scoring three-or-more on nine occasions. A native of Walpole, Massachusetts, Burke netted a season-high seven goals against Curry (April 11) and also scored six in a win over Wentworth (March 31).

Mayers – despite missing one game late in the season – still managed to finish third in the conference with 52 goals. The New Paltz, New York native racked up 11 hat tricks and hit the five-goal mark on four occasions, including her collegiate debut at Wellesley (February 17).

Morrison led JWU and ranked fifth in the conference with 25 caused turnovers to go with 38 ground balls. Holland, meanwhile, collected 27 ground balls and nine draw controls in 18 starts while Fitzgerald started all 15 games she appeared in and filled the stat sheet with 20 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers. Frazier played in 11 games (one start) and scored her first two collegiate goals in the regular season finale at Nichols (April 22).

Kate Zonin (Hartford) was named CNE Offensive Player of the Year and Grace Rocheleau (Roger Williams) took home Defensive POY honors. Olivia Ferraro (UNE) garnered Goalkeeper of the Year honors while Miranda Hayes (Roger Williams) was tabbed Specialist of the Year, Maureen Spellman (Endicott) was Coach of the Year, and Mia Smith (Endicott) was named Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

The Wildcats finished the 2026 campaign in third place in the CNE with a 10-8 record (7-3 CNE). They defeated Suffolk 19-12 in the Quarterfinal round before suffering a 12-10 defeat at Roger Williams.
