Riley Shepley and
Sidney Mayers each scored three times for the JWU (Providence) women's lacrosse team in a 12-10 loss to Roger Williams University Wednesday night in Conference of New England (CNE) Semifinal action at Bayside Field.
Shepley added three assists and classmate
Addison Stratton netted two goals as the Wildcats first season in the CNE came to an end with a 10-8 record. Senior

Kelsey Higgins also tallied for JWU, which lost 17-of-24 draw controls and was outshot 31-27.
The game was tied at two after one quarter of play before the Hawks (10-8) scored seven of the next 10 goals to pull in front 10-5 going to the fourth. Two goals from Shepley and another from Higgins in the opening 6:22 of the fourth pulled the Wildcats to within two at 10-8 with 8:38 remaining.
Roger Williams answered with two of the next three goals to grab a 12-9 advantage with 4:04 on the clock. JWU then went scoreless for the next three-plus minutes before Mayers capped the scoring with 40 seconds remaining with her 52nd marker of the season.
Freshman
Carley Cook played all 60 minutes between the pipes and registered 12 saves. Junior
Alyssa Morrison registered three ground balls and caused three turnovers.
