BEVERLY, Mass. – JWU (Providence) first-year Rhiana Thomas has been named the Conference of New England (CNE) Field Rookie of the Week.

A native of New Paltz, New York, Thomas recorded a school-record throw of 44.00m in the hammer at the Sean Collier Invitational this past weekend at MIT. Thomas also placed fifth in the shot put (11.01m).

The Wildcats will compete at the CNE Championship this weekend on the campus of Gordon College in Wenham, Mass.
