WENHAM, Mass. – The JWU (Providence) women's outdoor track & field team placed third at the Conference of New England (CNE) Championship Saturday afternoon at Gordon College.

Graduate student Julia Caputo placed first in the 800m run (2:21.43), 1,500m run (4:38.48), and 5,000m run (17:11.16).

Classmate Aliyah Wilson took first in the long jump (5.60m), second in the 400m (58.0), third in the 200m dash (25.90), fifth in the triple jump (10.34m), and seventh in the 100m dash (13.00).

The 4x400m relay team of Wilson, junior Fallon Preble, sophomore Ayevah Marinez, and freshman Alison Quiambao captured first with a time of 4:05.59. The squad also placed second in the 4x100m relay (48.58).

Individually, Marinez went on to finish fourth in the 400m dash (1:00.14) and seventh in the 200m dash (26.36). First-year Lauren Stanger placed second in the shot put (11.47m).

Junior Lena Nicholson claimed third in the discus (35.02m) and sixth in the hammer throw (38.95m).

• Rhiana Thomas: fifth in hammer (40.65m) and eighth in the shot put (10.71m)

• Samantha Miller: seventh in the pole vault (2.75m)
• Brynn Leahy: 10th in the javelin (28.95m)
• Chidera Obike: 10th in the hammer throw (34.97m)
• Riley Veits: 11th in discus (29.22m)
